KIPRUN, a leader in innovative running solutions, proudly unveils the KD900X LD+, a revolutionary model engineered to optimize long-distance racing performance.

The KD900X LD+ is the ultimate choice for marathoners who demand both speed and endurance. In an independent study conducted by the University of Besançon, the KD900X LD+ was tested as the fastest shoe ever produced by KIPRUN, outperforming key competitor models. In this study, the KD900X LD+ delivered better running economy results, which means that it should allow runners to run faster over the same distance or running at the same speed over a longer distance.

This shoe was developed following valuable feedback from KIPRUN athletes who found the previous KD900X LD model effective for shorter distances but desired enhanced cushioning and protection for marathons. The previous model’s PEBAX-blended foam felt slightly firmer, whereas the new KD900X LD+ offers improved comfort and leg protection for the marathon distance. Notably helping Méline Rollin set the French marathon record with a time of 2h24’12’’.

What's New?

The KD900X LD+ is a new addition to KIPRUN’s lineup. It features a re engineered VFOAM PLUS midsole made of 100% PEBAX, delivering greater energy return, enhanced cushioning for superior comfort over long distances. These improvements are largely achieved through the implementation of a new midsole manufacturing process, known as Supercritical Foaming Technology (SCF), which reduces the midsole weight, while simultaneously enhancing energy return and improving cushioning. Additionally, the redesigned upper with a circular knitted mesh and 360° heel construction ensures optimal foot support and fitting comfort.

I’ve been running with the KD900X LD+ for several months, and I used them in 2024 for all my training blocks as well as during the Seville Marathon (French record: 2h24’22’’) and for my national title in the 10km road race. The feeling is excellent: great responsiveness combined with soft impact cushioning and enhanced ankle comfort, particularly thanks to a redesigned tongue.
